We traveled to my grandmother's birth place, a village called Neyyoor in Kanyakumari district in the state of Tamil Nadu, India.  This state neighbors the state where we stay currently, Kerala, much like Louisiana borders the Gulf Coast of Texas.  My Great-Grandmother, who passed away in 1996, lived in this home and now, it has been renovated and is very pretty - we enjoyed our stay at Neyyoor home so much we did not want to leave. This home is named, "Sreeniketan" because all homes that we know in India have names, just like people.  The top picture with the golden dome is Ooramman Temple, a goddess temple that all the folks in the village go to - I enjoyed visiting there and was caught in a heavy downpour the evening that we went.  The temple has a pond but it has dried up now even though we saw a little bit of water - back in the day, people used to swim in the early morning to cool off.  In Neyyoor, our neighbors right across the street have a twelve year old with whom I became fast friends, Sabari.  He also happens to have three very cute puppies named Scooby, Jackie and Pinku.  Scooby is like a mini Ernie (Michael's dog) and Pinku is like a mini Bert (Michael's other dog) and Jackie's just plain cute - he is so small he can fit in your palms.  We also went to Muttam Beach where I went stir crazy - since I did not have my swimming shorts, I took off all my clothes and got soaked in the waves in my underwear.  Those photos, I am not posting.  Here you can see the beauty of Muttam Beach which is just a few kilometers from my Neyyoor home.  Stay tuned for more!
